Title: Cork City - Unbaptised burials?
Post by: AlanR83 on Saturday 01 October 16 17:24 BST (UK)
Hello,

I have learned from her death cert that my Great Grandmother who died in 1911 age 28, died 4 days after childbirth. The baby died at birth and was not baptised, my Great Grandmother is buried in St Finbar's but no record of the child, I called St Finbar's and they don't have an unbaptised section. Does anyone know where in Cork city an unbaptised baby would have been buried? the child was born and died on July 11, 1911 at Wycherley Terrace, Cork City.

Hi,
My great Aunt died3 days after childbirth, the baby had died at birth.
My Gran dressed her sister and the baby was dressed and was placed in the Mother's arms with flowers. They were buried together. This was in County Tipperary.
Other stillborn, died after birth are buried in the corner of the same graveyard.
Sad.

There is a definitely a babies plot to the rear of St Finbarrs Cemetery perhaps there, but maybe no "records"
