Maurice Joseph 1905/6 no cert showing
Margaret 1908

a cert showing 1913 for Maurice Joseph 1913 for same parents says see new certified copy

so perhaps he was registered late and maybe it was rectified at a later date

If you tell how far not very far is people may be able to help.

Was he born in Limerick?
Did he die in Limerick?
Did he marry? If he did do you have his marriage cert with his father's name?
Did he have any siblings?

dathai has done some great work there and it may be the correct person but you need to give searchers more to work with to get results.

Thank you so much dathai, also Sinann.

Unfortunately I don't really have very much more information. He did marry, spouse unknown, before 1947, and was a staunch Roman Catholic. Was born about 1924, don't know where, and was living in Limerick in 1947, and was an Executive Officer for Control Commission for Germany.

I was just hoping somebody might recognise the name Maurice Joseph Collins, or Michael Joseph Collins.

Very grateful for your assistance.

I don't see him in 1950 or 1945, there is a Mavis Collins on Lower Mallow St. In 1945.

Part 35 for each year, 200+ pages in.

Too late to do more tonight.

Thanks again Sinann. I typed his possible birth year incorrectly - I meant to say 1914.

Sinann, that's amazing. In the 1945 Register of Electors for Limerick, Mavis Collins lived at number 4 Lower Mallow Street. Number 4 was Maurice or Michael's address in Feb 1947. There were no Collinses in Lower Mallow Street in 1940 or 1950.

So, I wonder was Mavis his mother, sister, or wife? All so fascinating.

I didn't think there was going to be anything to find, it's all so vague but there is a marriage for a Maurice Joseph Collins in Limerick in 1945

Thank you. It appears to be to a Brigid. Can't find a Mavis connection yet, even if I use Michael Joseph Collins. Difficult if Maurice/Michael had been born after 1911 to find the family - would really like to identify Mavis Collins.

I have found a Mavis and Maurice Collins in Willesden however, in 1953, 1956, 1962 and 1963, in the electoral rolls. But I'm not sure they are the same people. In 1962 & 3 there were two other family members at the same address, so they must have been born before 1941. A pity the electoral rolls don't state occupation, as that might help.

There is a second copy of this cert on page 2, looks like he was born 1906.

We can't be sure of anything we have found but if you want to chance getting a copy of that marriage cert you can use the form on this site.

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/civil-records/help/i-want-to-get-a-copy-of-a-certificate-what-do-i-do

Only €4 but has to be paid in Euro and ordered by post or fax, although they will email the cert.

Hello,
You are spot on with lots of this.  Maurice Joseph Collins was born in 1906, father same name, mother Margaret Griffin.  Married Mavis Collins, lived in NW London from 1949-50.
Curious about your interest - are you related to him?

Collinsfamily will need to make at least one possible two more posts to use the PM system.

Good to hear we got so close.

I didn't know about the personal messaging, but I'm sure I'll post more on this thread.  What would you like to know about Maurice?  I am intrigued about a relation.  Is there a German connection?

The first thing I'd like to know about your Maurice is if he ever lived in Limerick? And secondly is/was there a Mavis?

Yes he lived in Limerick.  He married Mavis in 1935
