Winifred Hinton was baptised 11 Nov 1759 in Hanmer, Flintshire, Wales to Robert and Winifred
In 1779 there is a marriage of William Davies to Winifred Hinton both of this parish in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant, Denbighshire, Wales (50 miles from Hanmer). I cannot find another Winifred Hinton who would have been marriageable age apart from mine
Between 1779 and 1785 they had 5 children bap in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant, William is a Publican
Also between 1781 and 1786 there are 5 children bap to a William and Winifred Davies in Hanmer, but I can't find any mar for a William Davies to a Winifred that fits in with this couple
I've tried finding a will for Winifred Davies as I have a signature from the Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant marriage but no luck
Are they the same couple or not?
Thanks for any help I do have details on the children's baptisms if needed :)

I don't know if this helps, and you may already have it,but there is an 1807 will for William Davies of Stimmi Heath,Hanmer in which his wife Winifred is a benefactor and a Joseph Hinton is an executor.

Do the children have the same names in the same sequence in both locations?

Hi
Something to bear in mind - One of the problems with the Hanmer records is a fire in 1889. To quote Genuki:
Despite the heroic actions of Canon Lee, two sets of information were lost in the fire of 1889; namely marriages 1787 - 1813, and burials 1784 - 1813.
The burial register has been "reconstituted" by copying the burial details from the Bishop's Transcripts, which are now in the Cheshire Record Office. Unfortunately, as the BTs did not include the marriages for the period, the marriage register could not be reconstituted.

It might be that a marriage of this couple could have taken place in this time period or some of the earlier records coud have been destroyed/missing :-\

thank you Roger
this raises some questions, as he names son John as from his first marriage
I'll take a good look over the weekend and come back if I need any help :)

coming back to this
Winifred Hinton born Hanmer married William Davies in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant in 1779, children baptised in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant to William and Winifred are
Robert Hinton Davies 1779
Mary Davies 1781
Thomas Davies 1783
James Davies 1785
childen I've found baptised to a William and Winifred in Hanmer are
Winefred 1789
Jane 1790
Anne 1793
Richard 1796
The will that Roger found me is of a William Davies of Hanmer died 1807, leaving goods to wife Winifred and children John (from 1st marriage), William who are both over 21
Robert, Mary, Thomas, James, Jane, Anne and Richard, who are all under 21
Therefore I'm thinking they are 2 separate couples but I'd like to find something to say either way
Linda
edited to add, in the will of William Davies of Hanmer he names an executor as Joseph Hinton and Winifred Hinton did have a brother Joseph
William who married Winifred signed his own name on the marriage record but William who wrote the will just used a cross

Surely the sequence doesn't preclude one couple for children Robert to Richard inclusive. The dates are
sequential. It may be an open question whether William belongs to a first marriage or not.

thank you Roger
what is against it being one couple is that the will (written 1804) names the children who are not yet 21, including Robert Mary and Thomas, but the baptism dates indicate they would have been over 21
