Brickwall I am looking for Sarah Jane Thomas 1881 Newport I have her marriage certificate to Cornelius Sullivan in 1899 she was said to be 18
Her father was Thomas Thomas a dock labourer
She was married from 82 Dolphin Street and married St Marys Stow Hill
Searched for birth cert and the only one found is Sarah Jane Thomas 1881 4 Hereford street father Daniel Thomas Labourer and mother Emma Jane Thomas nee Jenkins
I have found a family called Jenkins at Hereford Street in 1881with the Head being Emma Jenkins born 1825
No sign of an Emma Jane Jenkins the possible daughter
Can find a marriage for her either
There is however in 1851 an Emma Jane Jenkins abt 1848 with a mother Emma and father James a wheelwright living at Croft Street Newport Any suggestions what to do next much appreciated

You could assume that she fibbed about her age, and was born after 1881?
What names witness the 1899 marriage?

There is a tree on An..ty which shows a death in 1927 for a Sarah J Sullivan age 45 years giving a dob of 1882. This tree has the marriage to Cornelius and subsequent information but the parents given are obviously incorrect (Thomas & Dinah living in Aberdare) but the age is probably relevant.
Another tree has the Emma Jane Jenkins connection but nothing to support it.
From the GRO index only one Sarah Jane Thomas born in Newport between 1880 & 1882 - mothers maiden name Jenkins so that looks like your Sarah
