I have a James Craig born in Inveresk, Midlothian in 1612 to James Craig and Margaret Peters.His father was said to have been born to Sir Lewis Craig and Beatrix Chirnside. I would appreciate any help to verify this information.

They appear to have had a number of sons, including a John born 1812 - perhaps your James' father?

The John you mention born 1812 could you mean 1612. I am looking for a John Craig born 1609 and married to Jonat coustoune. One child that I know was Archibald craigie. My John 's father maybe James Craig married to Margaret peters . Any help appreciated

Their children were
1.James born 1612. He married Agnes Mude.
2.George born 1618
3.Agnes born 1621
4.Helen born 1627
