Hi there
I wonder if anyone can tell me how to get a photo of the new TT memorial in the Douglas cemetery?
I googled and found one image ,which was a promotional photo for the people who built it.
My second cousins' brother was killed there in 1958 and they would love to see his plaque.
I'm not sure if I should post his name here because he still has four living siblings in NZ.
Although he was killed in IOM,he isn't buried there - the family in England arranged for his body to be sent to Brighton.
Thanks
Barbara

Not answering your question directly but you might be interested in a film on You Tube showing a lap of the course identifying the place where each person was killed. Titled 'Isle of Man TT and MGP Memorial'.

If you let me know more details (his name?), I can take a trip to the cemetery and take a photo.
There's this, from the company that made the memorial plaque:

I have found his name!
There's a wikipedia site listing TT casualties.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Snaefell_Mountain_Course_fatalities#List_of_fatal_accidents_involving_competitors
There's only 1 NZ rider mentioned in 1958, so it must be him.

Yes I just sent you a PM with his details and he was the first NZ rider to be killed in a practice race.

Apologies robesur,I somehow missed seeing your post.I will be very interested to see the film.
I recently downloaded some newspapers about the accident ,which gave us information we didn't know.
The members of the TT were very good at sending clipping to the family, but they hadn't seen the coroners report before.
Thanks very much

There are 124 plaques in total, see photo.
I have 5 photos taken closer; if any one would like a copy, please ask.
