Hi,
New to this but hoping someone can help.
I'm looking for any information on the Heapy family mainly located in Quarnford and Longnor.
Especially Ralph born in 1849 in Quarnford, trying to find his parents but with no luck
Any information on this would be appreciated
Thanks :)

Welcome to Rootschat.
There is a baptism of a Ralph Heapy in Quarnford on 20 May 1849 to parents George & Ann.

There is a George & Ann Heapy resident in Quarnford in 1851 as follows:
Back of Cross Side
George Heapy 35 Farmer of 35 acres born Quarnford
Ann 35
Martha 13
Ann 10
Delilah 18 or 8
Jane 16 or 6
George 4
Philip 1 Ages and birthplaces are difficult to decipher,
Would expect the 1 year old Philip to be named Ralph though if they are yours.

Hi,
Welcome :)
Baptism 20th May gives Georges occupation as famer and address as Back of Cross so would seem to be same family.
Most likely down under a different name on 51/61 censuses.

in 1861 11 year old Ralph Heaphy is a boarder, identified as a nephew, with Hollis and Elizabeth Gadow, a farmer of 110 acres at Ash House, Quarnford.

If you are looking for his wedding (as found in a previous post) use free bmd to search:
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
You can then apply for the marriage certificate for confirmation of correct people.
Added:
Not showing birth though...
Also cannot see Delilah's birth, though similarly baptism 1842 Quarnford.

We probably link up somewhere along the tree ;D
But way way back I think.

Thanks Carol,
Who was Emily Heapy's father do you know?

Emily's father was George (1836-1895) m Hannah Redfern in Macc in 1859.
Her grandad was Joseph Heapy (1799-1841 b Quarnford) m Martha Wardle in Alstonfield in 1819.

I have a few George Heapy's none that match the date though ???
Ralph Heapy b 1849 Had a brother George b 1847 and their father was also a George born around 1815 and his father was also George no date of birth as of yet struggling to find records for them.
It could be possible George with no date of birth yet had a brother which could be where your Joseph appears

Joseph's father was John who married Sarah Wood in Alstonefield in 1892,I have so far found 3 children. Abraham b 1797,my Joseph 1799 and Thomas 1891- there may have been earlier kids of course.
