Title: Honour Beard and Honour Beere - amended spelling!
Post by: haddockinthekitchen on Saturday 05 November 16 14:44 GMT (UK)
I would welcome any help with these two people in my tree.

Honour Beard - b. 24.11.1730 m. 6.11. 1751 d. 8.4.1795 - All Bodmin (Cornwall)
Honour Beere ( her mother) b abt 1695 St Ives? m 8 April 1712 b. 22 June 1732 All St. Ives (Cornwall)
Both of them were married to men called William Flamank of Boscarne father and son.
Given the similarity of names of all parties, I accept there may be errors.

I am not having much luck on the Cornwall OPC or the Cornwall Family History Society, plus a range of other sites.

Thanks in advance.

William Flamank baptised 4/1/1753 St Petroc church, Bodmin-Mother Honor. Looks like your Honor. Two years after her marriage. This is on FreeREG. There are loads of the Beard family on this site in Cornwall.
regards.

I have spent ages on several sites and not got very far at all today with this.
I am still learning how to navigate all these sites - total beginner!

If Honor the younger is supposedly the daughter of Honor the elder what surname did she marry as in 1751

@Paco....I don't think this is my man...I have 3 William Flamank of Boscarne (s) in my tree, but none of them have a birth/ baptism date to match.
It is an old Cornish name, and the family name is mentioned in the Heraldic Visitations of Cornwall.
I have found more Honour/ Honor Beere(s) than I can shake a stick at as well, which is not helping.
My "first" William was born/baptised in 1730- Father of the same name, and mother Honour Beere, and confusingly married to Honour Beard. There may be variation in the spelling of Honour (Honor) as I have seen it written both ways on records so far.
I will keep trying...
I did verify Samuel Flamank, son of Honor Beard and William Flamank of Boscarne (esq) and sister to Dinnis Flamank from the link so thanks very much for this - it was a great help.

Hi Rosie - The two Honours are only connected as mother in law and daughter in law, and the names are similar but coincidental it seems.
Honour Beard married William Flamank of Boscarne in 1751 (Helland parish)
His mother was Honour / Honor Beere, and his father was also called William Flamank of Boscarne (as was his grandfather!).
I have dates to clarify, but I am dealing with 5 people who seemingly have 2 names between them....Beere is not Beard of course, but with transcription errors, it can be confusing.
I have posted a reply as you put this up to @Paco as well.
...and round and round I go...

@Paco @Rosie - my apologies - given my spinning head, I made a slight error in my heading which I have now amended.
I have
HONOR BEERE
and
HONOR BEARD.

They are mother in law (Beere) and daughter in law (Beard) and have WILLIAM FLAMANK of BOSCARNE as the common link (b. 1730)
Apologies for the error, but as I explained in a previous post, I have 5 people in my tree sharing two names (with a slight variation in spelling for the ladies)
Hope this makes sense.

@Rosie @ Paco -Looking at the entries on the FreeReg site, I reckon the William Flamank born in 1753 is in fact the son of the William Flamank born in 1730.
He seems to be one of the 4 children - Dinnis (female) Samuel, Robert and William.
Dinnis Flamank married the Revd Nicholas Phillips and these are great grandparents - the others are great uncles.....
A step in the right direction, but I am trying to just go up the "direct" tree via the grandparents for now.
Great to add them in though!
