In my tree I have Albert Henry Mansell marring Ann Maria Moulder although she was Bapt. Maria.
i am trying to find their third child who was born and died between 1902 when they married(in Cheltenham) and 1911.
I have
John Albert born 18/6/1903 and Leslie born 1909 both in Cheltenham.

The GRO have only this week started their new index searches (lots of threads on RC about it!).
They have added mother's maiden name to births in most cases.
They also allow you to get a PDF file of the registration for just £6.
Many RCers are finding it very handy for finding missing births! ;D

That's smashing thank you Rosie and thank you KGarrad and also Sandra that will help a lot.I can't believe that I found all that information so quick.i am really grateful to you all.

There are a lot of my Mansell family from Birmingham. All of Albert's brothers and sister mainly died in Cheltenham and connections to London even the grandparents stayed around Cheltenham.I know John Albert died in 19052 in Cheltenham.I haven't found Leslie's death yet its hard because there are a lot of Mansell's with the same first name.Maria is quite an unusal name in our family though.
Alan
-
Yes Rosie I did see that the other day.S I did try to find a Marcia and a Maria in the 1939 register but couldn't find one so I thought maybe Maria died before 1939.

Frank Manoell - (transcribed) and Phoebe May Hicks
Sandra
-
Well that's interesting because Phoebe's father is William.I never knew his name because I have never been able to find her in the census's until 1911 after she was married. The GRO says her mothers maiden name was Bond and I had found today a Mary Ann Bond marrying a George Hicks in 1864 and although I couldn't put it in until I find them on the census tomorrow but now I can look for a William as father instead.
Alan
-
Could he have been a George William ?
Sandra
-
I wouldn't really know I did find a Marriage William Hicks- Mary Jane Bond 1883 Liskeard but that is Cornwall and the same year phoebe was born. Her mother's first name as never cropped up yet.
Alan
-
Could Mary Phoebe have been registered as Hicks but her parents never married until July/Aug/Sept quarter ? Have you found the family on census in 1891 ?
Sandra
-
Things like that did happen I cant remember what I found in the past but I will have a look at that in the morning if you give me the piece number I will have a look. Some times the parents never got married but the child took the fathers name.

What do you see as William Fletchers's fathers proffesion. It might be farmer what do you think.

Gloucestershire, England, Church of England Baptisms, 1813-1913 - There was a baptism Cheltenham, St John, Gloucestershire, England - 31 May 1883 - Mary Phoabe Hicks (as transcribed - but could be May Phoebe) - Mother: Marianne Hicks - Charwoman - 67 Duke Street.
Sandra
-
Hi Sandra.
Thanks to your bapt. you sent me with the address Duke Street I have found Phoebe in 1891 and 1901 and I think I have sorted her mother now as well.
Firstly I found Phoebe May Nicks in 1901 in Duke Street with her uncle and aunt William and Sophia Hall.
Then I found her with William and Sophia as adopted she was down as phoebe May Hall but on the image as Hicks.
I then followed Sophia back and found her maiden name was Bond and she is with Phoebe's mum Mary in Charlton Kings in 1851 and with their parents Charles and Ann also found her bapt. Mary Anne in Charlton Kings 30/10/1842.Now that Marriage 1864 George Hicks to Mary Ann Bond father Charles Bond must be the right one,Found Mary Ann Hicks in 1871 married but no husband with her.
Alan
Also Myra Mansell Widow was good info.

It seemed to coincidental not to have been a possibility - unfortunately I didn't have time to look much further yesterday. Thank you for the update.
Excellent result Alan - lots of gaps filled ;)
Sandra
-
Yes Sandra a lot of useful information gained yesterday. Thanks to you.
Alan

No more gaps Alan, I wouldn't want to get bored today ;)
Sandra

Well Yesterday you found me a marriage in 1872 James Mansell to Amelia Jones.
James was born 1848 in Bishops Cleeve parents William and Drusilla Turbefield.
When Drusilla died William married Patience Attwood and they also named one of their sons James he was born in 1871 at Woodmancote stepbrother to the other James 23 years younger.
Now I have the second James in 1901 aged 28 farm labourer living at Oxenton with his widowed mother. After that I could not find him but there is a James Mansell Death March 1937 Cheltenham aged 66 which I think is him now did he marry anyone? Where was he in 1911 cant discuss(copywrite) and where was that burial in 1937.
