Post by: christinew on Tuesday 22 November 16 15:30 GMT (UK)
Hi
I am searching for the death and burial of my great aunt she was born Rose Harrison in Sheffield around 1907 and married William Jackson 1926? not sure about the date he worked in York at the then Rowntree factory and lived in New Earswick I don't know the address only that at one time it was an old peoples home and later was sold into separate houses and the river was at the bottom of the garden I know its a long shot but if anyone can help that would be brilliant I have looked through BMD but I cannot find her death
Thank you

Possible birth, a little later then you thought

Birth
Jan/Feb/Mar 1911
Sheffield
9c 636
Rose A Harrison

so marriage will have to be later than 1926

Unless she wasn't actually born in Sheffield, in which case there are other possible births nearer 1907.

There are 2 or 3 Yorkshire deaths of a Rose Jackson of right sort of age

Have you looked for them on the 1939 register as that would give birth dates and maybe the address would 'ring bells'

Were her parents William and Alice?

There's a baptism here:
http://www.sheffieldindexers.com/ParishBaptismIndex.html

for a Rose (twin of Lillian) that gives a birth date of 1909-03-07-which also matches the death of Rose JACKSON:

Birth Date:   7 Mar 1909
Date of Registration:   May 2003

Reg district:   Eastyorks

The GRO gives the births as Harrison/Robinson, so possibly this marriage for parents:

Marriages September quarter 1898
William Harrison    Ecclesall B.  9c  626
 Alice Robinson    Ecclesall B.  9c  626

And possible siblings
Thomas Harrison   1899
Elizabeth Harrison   1900
Ralph Harrison    1902
William Herbert Harrison   1904

Added:
Wonder if this is Lilian's death:
Lilian Newton born  7th  March 1909, died February 1994 age 84 in Sheffield
Possible marriage was 1935.

If the death already posted is for your Rose Jackson (b.7/3/1909, d.2003) since you say that William A. Jackson died sometime before her could this be him:

William Albert Jackson b.2/8/1906, died Sept.1982 North Allerton, N. Yorks.
