Hi all,
I am been looking for the birth entry of Sarah Etteridge (and use your imagination with the spelling, they did) who in each census she is on is shown as born in Little Hadham Herts and age consistently calculates as born in 1840.
On the 1841 census taken in June she is shown as 11 months old so she would have been born July 1840
Sarah's mother's name was also Sarah Etteridge and she is shown as being single the 1851 census so it is probably an illegitimate birth.

Confirms the known and suspected details I have. Is there a church/parish name to go with that?
I still can't find a BMD registration so perhaps it wasn't done.
Wonder if she pursued the father for support and if so how do you find that out?

It doesn't give the church on the book but looking on google Little Hadham has a church called Saint Cecilia, so its probable that will be where it happened. There may have been a bond for her but i'm not sure where to look for those
