Hello.......

"and had a son Donald Forrest 1885 in south shields - 1954 auckland new zealand i wamt to find his descendants i know from ancestry he was married 5 times and used alias' but thats all."

Am I correct in thinking that from the above, Donald Forrest died in New Zealand in 1954? If so, I can find no record of his death at :

Hello ABaldwin

I have just posted to your earlier thread, information relating to a most comprehensive "tree" which is available on the ancestry website.

It does seem that all the "hard work" in digging up information for Donald FORREST and his immediate family, has already been done ... and that via this "tree", you can make contact with descendants.

According to the "tree", Donald FORREST is thought to have died in Australia in 1954 at which time he was using an assumed name.

Title: Re Forrest Family from South Shields
Post by: chrisos on Sunday 04 November 18 07:01 GMT (UK)
Hi
I am the owner of the “Forrests from South Shields” tree on Ancestry, mentioned by Amy Baldwin in her 2016 posting.  This tree  is now privatised on Ancestry but if anyone would like further information on this family please contact me.  It was my main research study over a 30 year period and provides a wealth of information on the family (incl photographs where available).  They were Qquite a remarkable sea faring family who started out as salt panners in North Shields in the late 1600’s, to  become wealthy shipowners and builders by the mid 1800’s.  There are over 30 master mariners in the family with a large number of deaths at sea.  I have traced the family to Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore during World War II and even Burma.  It is an amalgamation of numerous contributions over the years, all of whom have been acknowledged as sources.
All the best
Chris
