Looking for any information about Peter O'Connell, who was born in Fermoy, County Cork in about 1854. I have plenty of cited information about his decendants, however trying to find his Irish ancestors is proving to be impossible.
He married Caroline Appleyard in Swansea, West Glamorgan in December 1875.
He appears on the 1881, 1891 and 1911 E&W censuses, but not 1901. The birthplaces given are Ireland, Cork, Ireland & Fermoy, County Cork. In 1891 the name O'Connell was misspelled as O'Cornell - but is definitely the correct person.
He died between April and June 1919 in Swansea, West Glamorgan.
Any leads would be very much appreciated - and if anyone wants detailed info and copies of documents I am happy to oblige.

Probably best to start with the marriage certificate to Caroline which should give his fathers name/occupation :)

His (Peter's) occupation was Copper Smelter (Foreman).
I have not been able to obtain a marriage certificate. The citation is from the BMD search website.

And his fathers name?

What was the problem with obtaining the marriage certificate? The details below should be ok for you to obtain one.
Dec 1875 Swansea 11a 1086
Appleyard Caroline
O'Connell Peter

You will really need to order the marriage certificate to see if father's name and occupation is listed. Otherwise you won't know if any baptism record for a Peter O'Connell in Fermoy around that date might be the correct record.
Fermoy Catholic parish registers are here-

Wow Milliepede, that was quick! Thank you :)
I use My Heritage and couldn't find 1901. Probably because the apostrophe was missing.
'Neila' is really Julia, who I have plenty of info on.
Mary is Caroline's mother, who I am researching at the moment.
The BMD listing doesn't have parents' information, just the marriage record.

I shall do as you suggest regarding the marriage certificate. Thanks for the links.
