Found a baptismal record for Janet Clark 16 Dec 1777 in Lochgoilhead parish
Parents lived in ??Pollochoradan ???? script is difficult to read; have not found it on maps...
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Can you please post a snip of the image here so we can have a look at it and offer suggestions as to what the word may be?
Include a couple of other nearby entries so we can get a feel for the writing. :)

There is a Polchorkan marked on the old maps just north of Lochgoilhead.

Thank you mommabear. I see the place name written as Pollochorka_.
I think given the location and the almost exact spelling, that Mo's find of Polchorkan is correct. :)
