Trying to find her parents. Her date of birth is 9 Sep 1854 and died 25 Jan 1937 Jedburgh.
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Have you looked at her death certificate? Normally that gives parents unless the informant does not know who they were.
It is available to view at www.scotlandspeople.go.uk This is a pay site but is very reasonably priced for searching Scottish records.
Hope this helps but any problems let me know as I have a few credits for SP.

Hi its me again.
Just checked the Old Parish Register on SP and Helen's birth entry is there too. Index gives her parents as Robert Thomson and Agnes White.

Thank you I got that too. But trying to find out where they were born and I think (not sure) Robert Thomson was born in Ireland?? I think I have read that right?

The 1861 census for Jedburgh is free to view on FreeCen. Helen is transcribed as Ellen, and her mother Agnes (aged 34) is already a widow, born in Southdean, Roxburghshire

Also in the 1851 census there is a Robert Thomson age 39 born Ireland c. 1812. He is a Physician.
Two children listed William aged 2 and John aged 9 months. No sign of his wife Agnes if this is the correct link.
There is a death on SP for a Robert Thomson died Jedburgh in 1858.
Hope all the info from myself and others helps you to piece things together.

Robert was a widower in 1851 but he had a child under a year so looks as if his wife may only recently have died. He married Agnes White on 16th June 1853 in Jedburgh.

I note that the Findagrave entry gives a death date of 11 May 1919 for Helen Thomson (your date of death is different in your opening post).
Findagrave also states she was known as Helen or Ellen.
The Scottish Calendar of Confirmations has this for an Ellen Thomson -6 The Square Melrose, died 11 May 1919, Melrose. Confirmation 27 Aug to Robert Paterson CA Edinburgh and Elizabeth Blaikie Paterson 9 Craigmillar Park Edinburgh. (Scotlands People gives age of death as 64 where her first name is recorded as Helen).
There are 3 entries in the calendar for Agnes Thomson - the first has her confirmation (she died intestate) 8 April 1902 to Helen Thomson, The Firs Jedburgh. The second says Eik to confirmation 14 April 1909 to Helen Thomson 4 Dundas Street Edinburgh, her daughter. The third has confirmation 20 Jan 1923 ad non executa to Robert Jenkinson Thomson 5 Hope Street, Leith, next of kin.

Death Thomson - At 6 The Square Melrose (the house of Mrs. Davidson ) on 11th inst. Ellen only daughter of the late Dr Thomson,Jedburgh.
A further notice on the 13 May adds - Funeral on Wednesday at Abbey Churchyard, Jedburgh, at 12 20 pm.
The death cert. and will can both be found on Scotland's People and should confirm if this is indeed the Helen Thomson you are looking for.(I note that while the Findagrave date of death differs from the one you have quoted the date of birth is the same).

Added : A search on SP for Helens who died in Jedburgh in 1937 produced 4 results which is actually 2 as the refs. indicate.

Like you William I also noticed the different death date and was wondering if we have two different families here ..Was waiting on nenepops replying did see a tree with a death for Helen Telfer 1937 with the parents down as Robert and Agnes Thomson which is wrong ..need to wait for nenepops reply

Wowsers, there are a lot of different information you people have given me.
All I have is this so far:
Helen Thomson was born on September 9, 1854, in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, the child of Robert and Agnes. She married William Telfer in 1881 in Hobkirk, Roxburghshire. They had eight children in 15 years. She died on January 25, 1937, in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, at the age of 82.

I have to say, Nenopops, that I agree with Rosie's comment that there may be information for two different families here.
Helen Thomson, the daughter of Robert Thomson and Agnes White clearly died in 1919, a spinster and their only daughter.
Looking at the children's names of William and Helen Telfer I also find it surprising that none of the children were called Robert or Agnes if they were Helen's parents.
I think the only way to be sure is to download the 1881 marriage of William Telfer and Helen Thomson from Scotland's People and her death in 1937. These will hopefully record her parents names and point you in the right direction.

Yes as William said get the marriage certificate for Helen Thomson to William Telfer to see who the parent's are ...As far as I can see the Helen/Ellen daughter of Robert and Agnes was not married

No not yet. But my mother in law (it's her grandmother) remembers that she died that year.
I will have to look into it.

So with the help from someone who was very kind I have finally found out that Helen's parents were William Thomson and Janet Bell. So now I need to find out where they resided and dates.

In 1861 the family were living at Shothead, Oxnam ( down as Thompson on Ancestry)

Janet Thomson/ Bell was widowed in 1865 when her husband William died in Oxnam aged 42. In 1868 she remarried in Oxnam. To confuse things her new husband was also a Thomson -John Thomson. Not sure if the two men were related.
In 1871 the family were living in Southdean, Roxburghshire -
John age 40 born Crailing, Roxburghshire
Jane age 38 born Southdean
Mary age 14 born Oxnam
James age 10 ( would appear to be John's son by previous marriage)
Violet age 8 ( mistranscribed as Robt on Ancestry) born Oxnam
John age 2
Adam ( born 6 Nov 1870 to John Thomson and Janet Bell per Familysearch)
In 1861 John was living at High Street, Jedburgh with wife Euphemia and children Annie age 1 and James age 2m. Euphemia Thomson nee Learmond died in Jedburgh in 1865 age 34 ( per SP)
Not sure where Helen was in 1871 but she would have been old enough to be away working by then.

I wonder if this is their marriage from Familysearch
William Thompson and Janet Bell 25 January 1856 Oxnam, Roxburgh, SP marriages also have him as Thompson. The cert. would again give their parents' names.
To complicate matters there is also a William Thomson and Jannet Bell marriage 22 Feb 1856 Hawick, Roxburgh but geographically the Oxnam marriage seems to make more sense.
If the correct marriage this would,of course, suggest that Helen was born before they were married.
