Title: Elizabeth Colley
Post by: robsdad on Friday 03 February 17 13:32 GMT (UK)
Hi All,
Can anyone help with the burial of Elizabeth Colley please.
The lady I am looking for was born c. 1766 and married ? to Richard Colley
Death Reg. shows 1837 Madeley but of course no age.
I am hoping that someone has access to the burial records and it shows the age and maybe the spouse in order that I can include or discount this Elizabeth from my records.
Thanks in anticipation,
robsdad.

If you have the details from freebmd you can now find the age by using GRO online.  You can find mothers maiden names on pre-1911 birth as well

Thanks Carole,
As my enquiry is a bit of a flyer I was looking for a somewhat cheaper option.
The odds are not short enough to risk the 'cert' request before exploring us rootchatters.
Regards,
robsdad

Hi the link supplied by Carole costs nothing, just sign up and away you go.

As an example I signed up and found that the Elizabeth Colley who died December qtr 1837 Madeley v18 page 69 was aged 83 at death.
In fact it was 31st October 1837 address Broseley, Burial Much Wenlock

The link I gave you is completely free and an excellent way of solving the problems of whether a death fits your ancestors profile or whether a birth has the right mmn.

If you have ever bought a cert online from the GRO you will presumably have registered and created a password etc and if so - that is the only info needed to access this service

If you don't already have a login - then all you have to do is register and create a password

Hi Carole,
Thanks for your original message and site details.
Sorry for the mix up.
I registered last night but Keyboard86 had kindly supplied the info. previously.
However the death in 1837 of Elizabeth Colley was not my family.
After more delving I am of the opinion that she died pre. GRO details.
It would appear likely that her death / burial was 1821 - 1830 as she appears on Wellington 1821 parish census age 55 ( b. 1766 ) but not with her husband Richard when he moved to Pensnett, Kingswinford from Wombridge I think about 1830 .
Apologies for including all this but I am hoping someone with access to Wombridge area P.R's can be of assistance in locating her.
Regards and many thanks for your time and trouble.
robsdad.

Hi keyboard86,
Not our Elizabeth I'm afraid.
On 1821 parish census she was in Ragfield ( Row ) which I am led to believe was in the area of Hadley, Wellington so may not be the Wombridge area ?
and age given as 55.
Many thanks
robsdad
