Title: Teresa Conlon, Rose Conlon.
Post by: Nicolec on Monday 06 February 17 20:02 GMT (UK)
Hi I am trying to trace relatives.
My nan was called Teresa Conlon and she had a twin sister called Rose Conlon. Their mother was also called Rose and she died during childbirth. I do not know date of birth for anyone but I know that my nan also had two more sisters and three brothers. One of the brothers moved to New Zealand. My Nan married my grandad Herd Charles Colville... anyone have any information?

Hello and welcome  :)

You might not know dates of birth but do you have approximate year of birth? It would help.
Did the family stay in Ireland - Westmeath? (Apart from the brother)

Regards
Heywood

I have asked my auntie if she knows my Nan,s date of birth, will write on here when I find out. Teresa moved to England (not sure what dates but my father and auntie were born there. My dad was born in 1965.... we do not know much information about my nan's side of the family so unsure whether anyone else moved.

Please remember that we do not publish the names of living persons on Rootschat.
I can see that your grandparents were married in Islington in 1962.
This site is useful for indexes of births, marriages and deaths.

I have looked on here https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ for a death for Rose Conlon but can't see one.  :-\
Are you certain of the first name?

Irishgenealogy has a death for a 16 yr old Rose Conlon in 1952, Tullamore, Co,Offaly. Rose could be working away from home perhaps.

Rose died in a house fire, that could be her. We don't know if they moved and the date of their birth may be a few years either side. Thank you for your help 😊

That is her then. The death certificate is on the site and the death informant was the Coroner.

You say mother was also Rose. Do you have their father's name or any other siblings?

Could it be that her death isn't registered on that website?

I had looked at the same death and considered it. Unfortunately, the informant is not a family member.
If you purchased the marriage certificate it would give you Teresa's father's name. It is difficult that we can't place Teresa and Rose together yet in the birth indexes.

Well, I keep looking and getting nowhere   :-\

There are some Conlon births with a mother Donoghue/Donohue 1929-1941
I won't name them except for Theresa born 1938

There are 3 girls including Theresa plus 3 boys, two of whom are twins. The trouble is, there is no Rose and the twins are boys.

The first three births are Mullingar and the last three Athlone.

That seems to rule that family out then.
