I know Owen West was born on 12 January 1876, his father was my Grandfather's brother Herbert & Emma West. I also have information of an Owen West burying his Dad Herbert in Brookwood Cemetery, Woking in the '50s (or his son if he had one). I have most of the data on West family BUT what happened to Owen? Brookwood do not give full burial information like they used to. I have seen all the West family graves in Brookwood too (all together in a line,I did not see Owen's).

Thanks for the info. Oh I wonder if this is him, he certainly buried his Dad in the early '50s so would've made him old. I shall have to look on the 1911 census to check if he was still around Woking.

I am not seeing a Owen that fits on census 1881/91/01 - Are you sure that date of birth isn't his father Herberts :-\

Ah the 1909 sounds better. My Grandfather died in 1907 and although Herbert was older I think he may have married late.

Keyboard86 from Genes Reunited a while ago. But there were a few Wests lived in Woking at that time and my Grandfather appears to be the only one who left to live in the midlands (although a few had lived in Battersea/Lambeth etc earlier). I was interested recently in Owen because I visited Brookwood and seeing Herbert's grave made me think someone must have buried him it was a grand headstone!

Sounds a much better option. My father (Herbert's brothers son) inherited some money from the Woking West family and Herbert advertised in a London newspaper to find him. Think that may have been in the early 1950's so I made an assumption that this was Herbert. Doesn't pay to assume in this game!
