I don't see a 1907 death to check an age

There is an Alfred Henry JEFFS b 1906 Uppingham, Rutland Q2 V7a P348

Jeffs, Alfred    age 78

There is an Alfred Henry JEFFS b 1906 Uppingham, Rutland Q2 V7a P348

According to an online tree (usual caveats) this Alfred was born 23 May 1906 in Uppingham workhouse, married in Huntingdonshire in 1936 and died in Grantham in 1974.

Marriage was as Alfred H DEATH, so presumably the reference in the thread title was to Death as a name, rather than a life event?  That wasn't clear.

the GRO entry for Alfred Henry Jeffs has no mother's maiden name, which would suggest his mother wasn't married

There's a marriage between an ELizabeth Jeffs and James Death in Peterborough in Q1 1915 that might be connected
