Title: Family Bible: Tiplady & Cox
Post by: Treetotal on Friday 10 February 17 14:04 GMT (UK)
A very old family bible has been donated to the heritage centre where I am a volunteer and I have been asked to locate direct descendants.
I would love to hear from anyone with connections to this family.

are there any first locations, names or dates to help start the search?

any indication of time frame though or names to help?
how old do you think the bible is?

The couple I located divorced in 1900 and Ancell remarried the same year
They did not have children/issue

The earliest entry is 1844 and that last entry is 1938...There is an Annie but the middle name is different. The bible is an 1880s Brown's bible.

Having searched through the information in the bible and online...I can't make a connection to your Annie...There is also a Tiplady line from Durham but there is no link that I can find to any of the names in the bible.

I was on the Home page and spotted a surname I knew, so came and had a nosey.

I don't know which branch your research has led you to, but Tiplady is an unusual name and I went to Ainthorpe Grove Primary school with twins Malcolm and Stewart Tiplady born 1939.

I was in touch with them about a decade ago until my computer gave up the ghost.  I believe one lives in Bucks and one in Hampshire.

Rena in Lancashire

Hi Rena...Thanks for that...I appreciate your response and will investigate. From research already carried out I believe that there is only one line connection to Hull and their offspring was born in The  Wirral...I can't mention them as I believe they may still be alive.
I have made contact with descendants on Genes Reunited so I will watch and wait  :D

The family are so overwhelmed and excited Frank...I have scanned and emailed some of the cabinet cards and the soon to be 90 year old has identified several of her ancestors. So rewarding  8)
