May all men know by these presents that I, Brooke Bridges, Esquire, of the parish of St Andrew Holborn in the county of Middlesex, am held and firmly bound to the Reverend in Christ, Father and Lord, Lord Henry, by divine permission Bishop of London, in (the sum of) two hundred pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid to him the Reverend Father or to his certain attorney, executors, administrators or assigns; for well and truly making this certain payment I firmly bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators by these presents. Sealed with our seals, given the 23rd day of the month of May 1677.
<signed> Bro Bridges
Signed, sealed and delivered
in the presence of
<signed> William Deely, Notary Public

(There should be another section following, in English, setting out the conditions of the bond)

Chairlady, if I may ask, do either of the parties to this marriage have links to the Bicester area, or to northern Oxfordshire or Bucks?

I am fairly sure this William Deely springs from my Deely family of Launton, although I've never been able with certainty to pinpoint where.

Most (though not all) of the extant marriage allegations/bonds with which he is associated have at least one link to that area.  I would be interested to know whether this one fits the pattern.

Hi horselydown86 - the family hail from Alcester which isn't that far away, but I have no direct link with Bicester - yet!
