I found this on line somewhere and I am hoping he is mine
Alexander was born 8Th April 1832 Falkirk Stirlingshire Scotland he was the son of Alexander Wallace and Isabella Binnie .
The information I found was that he died on 29Th July 1906 in Woodstock Connecticut USA
How can I find out if he is my ancestor ?

There is a pedigree resource file which says the brother John Binnie Wallace also passed away in Woodstock Connecticut but no sources for either Alexander or John.

Can't see either on census yet.

a Jessie Taylor Roberts in 1881 in Edinburgh and died near there in 1912 .
They had one son also John Binnie Wallace who was born in 1884 and I believe went to Canada but I have not researched him yet .

Was feeding a hungry husband anyway your quicker than me Sandra ;D
-
Sorry Sandra looking up notes I was never able to find Alexander or any of the other family from 1841 census .
Only his father stepmother and younger brother and sister.
His mother Isabel Binnie died pre 1841 census as his father also Alexander remarried a Helen McAlpine in 1840.
I wonder if Alexander married Margaret Robb between 1851 and 1855 in Scotland and the marriage did not need to be registered

Obituary -
Maida (nee Wallace) Ogletree - 97 years - of Kingston, N.S., born in Vancouver, British Columbia died suddenly of a heart attack on July 7, 2013 at her home. She was predeceased by her parents John and Maysie Wallace of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Husband of 56 years, Harry Ogletree born in Moose Jaw, Sask. Maida worked for the Hudson's Bay Company in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the accounting department for several years. When she married Harry, a member of the RCAF, she enjoyed the travel and made life-long friends of every one she met. Maida handled every posting with humour and grace. When Harry retired, she was able to take up her passion for golf. Maida was able to golf year round when she started to travel to Dundee, Florida. She did this for over 30 years until a few years before her passing. Maida was a very active participant in the activities of her many “families” including her snowbird family at Royal Oaks in Florida; her Paragon Golf Club and most importantly her large immediate family that blossomed fairly late in her life. She thoroughly enjoyed all the family interactions and developed strong loving relationships with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For those of us whose life was touched by her wisdom, grace, integrity, kindness and humour, words cannot possibly express what a truly remarkable woman she was. She will be missed. Maida is survived by her children etc etc

There is a SSDI record for Anna Wallace born 27 March 1887 who passed away January 1977
Last Residence Pennsville, 08070, Salem, New Jersey. This could possibly be the wife of John Binney Wallace - or could be a coincidence having the same birth date. ???

You have been busy Sandra :) like you not seeing a marriage for Alexander and Margaret
On the 1901 census gives a date of birth for Margaret Wallace as 17/10/1827 Scotland don't know how accurate that would be ?
1891 Census Oxford North Blandford Ontario transcribed as Waller
Alexander 58, Margaret 60 ..
1881 transcribed as Wallis in Brant South Burford Ontario
Alexander 48, Margaret 50 ...
Sandra has posted details of the 1871 census
There are a few possibles on the 1861 census as a single man ?

Hi,
This looks like Alexander Wallace's obituary. I think you will have to contact the Oxford County Genealogical Society for a look up.

Using the 1903 death year found by Sandra.... looks like Margaret was Margaret Robb. You could order her obit ... here are the details.
