hi my gg grandad was in spalding prison on the 1861 census i have googled to try and find relivant info but i came up with dead ends each time so i was hoping that someone elce might know of info the address of the prison was 

her majestys prison for the parts of holland+kesteven ,its just off sheep market

staff in 1842 govner mr thomas king

staff in 1872 govner mr henry bates and matron ann bates reverend j lewis is chaplin

can anyone help,id like to know why he was in prison
