Title: Rathcoole Church of Ireland cemetery
Post by: kclinch on Wednesday 22 February 17 05:21 GMT (UK)
The Church of Ireland graveyard at Rathcoole has only 56 family plots according to historicgraves.com. How can it be that Mr. Richard Fyan and Mr. J Molloy who were tried and executed for aiding the rebels of '98 were permitted to be buried in this small cemetery? One source tells of them being interred in the "old Catholic section."
Just how small is the old Catholic section if the entire cemetery contained only 56 family plots? Was the old Catholic section under the control of Catholic leaders?

Plenty of RC's are buried in C of I Cemeteries across Ireland, nothing unusual there.

Does it say there is only 56 family plots or is it the case that only 56 have been recorded, perhaps only 56 have headstones.

I know they only have a small number of the graves in the cemetery in my area.

Historicgraves.com are only showing 56 gravestones from the burial ground- there could be others not listed.
