Hi, new to rootschat! :) wondering if anyone is tracing Warren family in Gloucestershire. I have George and Mary Ann (nee Robertson) Warren married in Cheltenham 29 Jun 1828. Emigrated to South Australia in 1840 with 3 sons and 1 daughter. John baptised 13 Feb 1831 in Cheltenham, William Charles baptised 4 Jan 1833 Cheltenham, Susan b. abt 1835. I do not have a baptism for Susan or Henry Walter Warren b. bet 1832-39 calculated from his subsequent documentation.
George was born about 1809 and I would like to find his parents also. It maybe that they were George (the father) and Sarah nee Buckley Warren married 15 Aug Adlestrop . There is a baptism for George (b.1809) the son 10 Apr 1809 at Adlestrop with parents, George and Sarah, but this is mainly conjecture without further proof! Any assistance or suggestions of where to look would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D
There is a Surnames Interest Table on RootsChat.
Go to the bottom of any RootsChat page.
There, in the black (or dark brown) box you'll find "Surname Interests".
Click on that, and do a Quick Search.
Eventually you'll find the names of every RootsChat member interest in the surname Warren.
Why not add your own surname interests while you're there?

SUSAN Warren, Baptism Date: 4 Oct 1835, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Parents GEORGE/MARY ANN
Fathers Occp Plasterer
I did notice the 1809 Christening you mention and cant find him in 1851 Census.
There is one born c 1804 Bisley, married Adeline Boxwell 1837 Bisley (FreeREG).
But there is also this Marriage;
29 Nov 1804, St Mary, Cheltenham
John WARREN to Ann DOWNE

(FreeREG)
Cant find a George or any conclusive Children to them though.

Thank you for all the info I am overwhelmed by the kind people out there and the time you spend helping. I will go through the info and check it against what I have. Amelia has been a bit of a puzzle and I will have to go through what I already have about her.
Thanks again!

This is likely her;

AMELIA Warren Bapt, Mother ISABELLA, 19 April 1840, Bristol

I have found on the National Burial Index a Susannah Warren burial Dec 1838 at Leckhamption aged 3 yrs and 9 months which would fit with a birth about 1835. But it is far from conclusive.
The passenger list does not give dates/ages that I can see. There were 5 births on the journey out so that it could be that a daughter Amelia was born on board perhaps or just before they left with no time for a baptism as they would have had to travel to the boarding port. This would fit in with the dates of the death of Amelia in Adelaide. ::)
Also I am aware of the Charles and Isabella family and Amelia but the researcher we engaged searched Leckhampton and Cheltenham for the baptism of any Warren children before Dec 1840 and found nothing listed. She says of this Warren family that Isabella appears to remarry/marry soon after the 1841 census where Charles is 50 yrs (at 15 years of age she is more likely to be a daughter - but you never know).
yes it is interesting that George and Charles are both plasterers.
happy to hear of any other theories :D
Thanks again.

? It would seem that WARREN could also be an Alias for WARING/WARYING - various 'hits' on Google
Marriage at Cheltenham St Mary -
Edmund WARING to Jane PRICE - 31 December 1817
then just one baptism on the Gloucestershire Baptism Index again at St Mary's Cheltenham
Amelia Elizabeth WARREN - parents: Edmund (labourer) and Jane : 28 December 1823 (quite a gap after the marriage!)
---
Burials at Cheltenham St Mary
Henry WARING - 12 February 1828 aged 5 weeks
Elizabeth WARREN - 5 March 1828 aged 76
Elizabeth WARREN - 23 April 1829 aged 1
Henry WARREN - 5 September 1822 aged 2
