Hi guys,
I'm trying to find the 1851 census for Samuel Hosgood (born about 1873/74 in Devon). I have the 1841 census : Piece 1421; Book 7; Civil Parish: Cadoxton; County: Glamorgan; Enumeration District: 6; Folio: 30; Page: 3; Line: 17. He died 19 March, 1852 in Neath, Glamorgan. Cheers guys,

Hi there is a transcribed SABINA Hosgood 77 occ School Master b Sandford, Devon with wife SABA 47 b Bristol in Butter Street, Neath in 1851 census?

Thank you for the reply. Samuel did have a daughter called Sabina but she was born in about 1806 so that would make her to young(and obviously a she not a he lol) Thank you for your help, Regards

Been chatting to a lady, a relative of Samuel Hosgood, she's been researching the Hosgood's for 30 years and I think she concurs with your findings. She says,( and I Quote) '' The transcriber was I think a little worse for wear. Sabina is down as male and the head of the house!'' They have Sabine born 1774, Landford, Devon and Laba born 1804 Bristol and living in Neath. She says that Samuel is living with his daughter at the time, and I have Samuel down as born 1773 in Crediton, Devon ( which is right next to Sandford , Devon) and Sabina, his daughter, born 1804 in Bristol. Just looks like the information has been put down wrong. So brilliant bit of research on your part. Kind Regards, David
