BOAR War
Boer War !
Have you seen the various items in South African archives? Not exactly what you are looking for but it all looks as though it might be of interest.

There is an officers' record in the National Archives with the name William Theselton Blissett which surely is him http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C677317
It is not digitised and has to be copied.

Need to review dates. The UDF was not instituted until 1912 so his unit in the Boer War must have been something else. There is an attestation record for a Trooper William Theselton Blisset in the Eastern Province Horse in 1900, age 29, mother address seems to be Jersey. Is that him perhaps?.Would perhaps link with the info provided byShaunJ.

Theselton seems to be the usual spelling.
There's a Boer War medal roll listing for him with the Eastern Province Horse with a note that he was transferred to Nesbitt's Horse on commission.
There's WW1 medal index card for him as a Captain on the Special List, previously a Sergeant with Nesbitts Horse.

I think it's the same person. The Nesbitt's Horse medal roll shows that J T Blissett's medals were issued by Eastern Province Horse as W T.

Looking at the LG entries for William Theselton Blissett, late South African Defence Force. He was on the Special List, employed in staff appointments, only one of which is identified when in 1920 he relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Military Landing Officer (responsible for liaising between the army and the navy getting men loaded onto ships at some port or another - perhaps the return of men from France). Only his record will tell exactly what he was doing.
