Title: Offerton
Post by: Mofamily on Saturday 04 March 17 11:14 GMT (UK)
Hi there

I hope someone can help me.  I have found a record for a Christopher Holburn (Cristopher Holborn on family search and Cristopher Nolbert!!! on ancestery) B: 1820 on the 1841 Census.  He is living with Peter Reed (Publican) the Robinson family and a lad called John McClennan.

However, I can't make out where in Offerton they are.  It says something like "Stewarts Hey" and on the family search it says "Heston Half".  I'm assuming as the head is a Publican it is some sort of hostelry.  Any thoughts?

Thanks Mo

It is Stewarts Quay. http://maps.nls.uk/view/102341518#zoom=6&lat=9846&lon=12001&layers=BT
There is the Netherton Spa public house next to the quay.

on the family search it says "Heston Half".

There was a property/farm called Hayston Hill (Hall?) in Offerton in the 1851 Census. HO107 Piece 2393 Folio 26 Page 21
