Hi

Luke Blackburn (Blagbourne) father William of earlier request married Margaret Newton 30/9/1701 Holy Cross, Ryton.  Their children are Catherine, John, William, Mary, Anne, Luke & Thomas. I believe Margaret's Dad is John.

My request is for a marriage for John (Margaret's Dad) also confirmation of Margaret's birth as there are 3 in familysearch 1673 1674 + 1681

Hi Judith

Have you had a look at the ebook of Ryton marriages 1581 - 1812? A quick look at it gives a marriage of John Newton to Ellinor Ferrer 3 June 1672. I can also see a marriage of a Jo. Newton and An Pott 11 May 1668.

No idea as to how you could "prove" that either of the above are correct unless you perhaps struck lucky with wills.

Thank you William - I had seen the marriage to Ellinor but none of Margaret's children are called Ellinor so made me wonder.

I might pursue Ellinor Ferrer and see if this gives me any clues
