Title: Herman de Stern Convalescent Home, Felixstowe, 1914
Post by: PeterM3 on Sunday 12 March 17 21:39 GMT (UK)
I have a postcard addressed to my Grandfather at this address in July 1914. Does anybody know  what sort of treatment he would have been having there. He was a shipping clerk at Port of London Tilbury Docks at the time and nearly 30.

Thanks for any information.

Evidently it was a convalescent home associated with the Royal London Hospital. I suspect the sea air was good for you, in particular if you were recovering from something like TB.
