Title: Isle of Bute - McCurdy
Post by: AlaskaLB on Friday 17 March 17 22:18 GMT (UK)
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any information on the family McCurdy who emigrated from the Isle of Bute to County Antrim in Ireland and subsequently to America in the 18th century?

Thank you!

LeeB

Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Could you include some christian names and birthyears please to enable readers to determine whether they have a connection?

Also - have you checked the Surname Interests Board to see if anybody else is researching the same family?  You will find the link at the bottom of this page under TOOLS

Hi
This post is years old so you probably will not even see it. However, my grandfather was a McCurdy with descendants from the Ise of Bute. I currently live in County Antrim although I'm aware many of the McCurdys then moved to County Tyrone in the North West of Ireland. My Grandfather George McCurdy was raised in NewtownStewart before settling in Strabane with my Grandmother.
