Title: Help finding Rachel Olive Stockton
Post by: Tom Langley on Sunday 26 March 17 19:47 BST (UK)
Hi there,

Im having trouble finding the Rachel Olive Stockton who was born in 1896 presumably in Cheshire.
She married George Arthur Moores in 1825 Wybunbury. Her death in 1960 and appearance in the 1939 records confirm this. Marriage and death were both Rachel Olive, but the 1939 records were the other way around.

I cant find a birth for her or find her in the census.

Can anyone help?

Tom

Hello,

There is a Rachel Stockton registered in Bolton. Likely to be the one (only) in Kearsley, Lancs in 1901 with parents Joseph and Esther.
What is her father's name on marriage certificate?

Heywood

I havent ordered the marriage cert yet.

Stockton is a common name in this area of Cheshire, so id expect her to be from there. But its always possible!

I can t access the 1939 but by elimination she appears to have been born August 1896 do you know the date?
Rachel Stockton mentioned above by Heywood, born Bolton ,seems to have a birthdate of 2nd Aug 1896 and father Joseph in school records,
Cathy
Added by further elimination  ...she does seem to have been born on that date

The one born in 1896 Bolton has mother's maiden name recorded as Glover  registered Farnworth, Bolton. Her baptism is on www.lan-opc.org.uk The parent's marriage is also in the site.
