Post by: dathai on Thursday 30 March 17 15:48 BST (UK)
Hi All
        We are Dublin,Ireland based.
A distant relative of my wife in Canada sent me the following names taken from a family bible.
Guiseppe Rosario Pacelli and Benedetta Marino
Their son Vincent Pacelli born about 1835 married Mary Rosa Savino
Mary Rosa's parents were Francisco Savino and Yolanda Frantonia

Vincent and Mary Rose were in Dublin in 1911 where they said they had 5 children
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Trinity_Ward/Brunswick_Street__Great_/88615/

i have managed to find their names through RootsChat
Francis born circa 1868 Marsocovitore ?
Guiseppe or Joseph born about 1872
Bernadetta born ?
Maria Antonia born about 1875
Teresa born about 1864

Would like to know if anyone could find any info on their parents or grandparents marriages or births for any of them.

most of what i have is posted here

Marsicovetere is a town in Potenza province.
Some records are online on familysearch, but these are not indexed, they are image sets (digital microfilm), so you will not find them by name searching from the top page.

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/2043547

For example, this looks like it may be the birth of Mariantonia daughter of Vincenzo (Vincent) Paciello and Maria Rosa Savino:

Thank you Jorose that is the best lead i have had in years pity its in Italian i cant make head nor tail of it,cant really make out the fathers name though i do see Maria Rosa Sevino.
Unfortunately the Italian has been bred out of their Irish descendants so no one to ask can they decipher it.

I can't read every word, but these are the essentials ...

Birth registered – 30 December 1874
Date of birth –  29 December 1874, at 22.00 hours
Given name – Mariantonia
Father – Vincenzo Paciello (son of the late Rosario Paciello), aged 45, farmer, resident in Marsicovetere
Mother – his wife Maria Rosa Savino, resident in Marsicovetere
Place of birth – their home, strada Santa Venere no. 4, Marsicovetere
Witnesses – Giovanni Briglia? (son of Domenicantonio), aged 30, and Nicola Barrite? (son of Giuseppe), aged 40, both farmers in Marsicovetere

The father's name is in line 5 ...

E comparso Vincenzo Paciello fu Rosario
di anni quarantacinque, contadino, qui domiciliato

Appeared Vincenzo Paciello, son of the late Rosario,
45 years old, farmer, residing here

(fu shows that his father Rosario was deceased.)

You're welcome, but it was jorose who actually found the record (reply #1). I just transcribed/translated what had been found.

The images are a nice find, but the weather could be better  ;)

Hi Dathai,
Joseph Pacelli is my great great grandfather if I am correct. One of his children was Teresa Pacelli who married John Heather, and they then had Nora, John Joseph, and Philip.
