I just had a death certificate today for one of my ancestors William prisk died 1876 Woodstock st Hilary. one of the informants was a james Wearne brother in law. I'm trying to find this james Wearne on some of the censuses. as far as I know William prisk married Elizabeth rowe in 1834
-
What about the female siblings of William prisk? Whom dud they wed?
And in laws could also be what we would today call a step-sibling
-
He was 64 when he died so have you researched his ancestry to establish who his female siblings were and as Pauline says - who did they marry?
Have you checked the 1871 census for a James Wearne in that locality?
Have you checked freebmd or Family Search for Prisk/Wearne marriages?
Any address for Wearne given on the death cert?
Have you researched Elizabeth Rowe's female siblings to establish whether one married a Wearne?
-
as far as I know William had 1 brother. There is a James Wearne from st erth who married Eliza Richards in 1833 st Hilary.can't find any prisk/Wearne marriages. the address Wearne gives on the death certificate is marazion
-
Have you checked the 1871 for him?
-
Which William Prisk have you adopted as your own?
Is it the 1812 baptism at Redruth? Son of Richard & Elizabeth. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NB76-VL9
(he looks to me to have several candidate siblings, both male and female)
-
William prisk son of Thomas and Elizabeth born about 1811 st Hilary can't find a baptism for him but his brother Thomas was baptised 13 march 1808 st Hilary
-
How have you determined Thomas was his brother?
You say William married in 1834 so how have you determined his parents were Thomas & Elizabeth?
-
Could it be that their wives were sisters?
-
From Free Reg:- 21 Dec 1833 - James Wearn (St Erth) married Eliza Richards Rowe (of Marizion) at St Hilary.
Could this be the connection?
-
1871 - James Wearne. ( b c 1809 St Erth) and Eliza ( b c 1807 Marizion) living in Marizion.
-
Can't find a baptism for Eliza Richards Rowe in marazion but there are 2 in st Hilary for Elizabeth Rowe 1803 and 1811 parents perran and Mary. This is interesting perran father was called perran Richards Rowe.
-
Have you Googled "Perran Rowe" or checked him out on "Rootsweb World connect" ?
-
