Title: Eva Mae Clarke
Post by: edlin on Thursday 13 April 17 01:03 BST (UK)
Looking for information on an Eva Mae Clarke who was perhaps from the Middlebury, Vermont area.

She was born August 21, 1880 and married John Edward Anderson (1898) who was working for the Vermont Marble Company in Proctor, Vermont.

They moved to Grafton/Rockingham, Vermont bought 3 farms (Eastman Place, Hill Farm and another that were all connected).  They had 4 children:  Oscar Edward. Elbert Fletcher, Esther Louise, and Alma Mildred.

She died in 1921 in Grafton Vermont.

Any information about her or proof that the above is correct  is greatly appreciated.

The 1900 census gives her birth place as Vermont and her parents the same. Her husband was born Sweden 1872 and he emigrated to the US in 1893.

Hello Edlin
Birth record:
On Alma Mildred Anderson all the information is correct - birth date, place of birth, father's name etc but her mother's maiden name is given as Eva May Cenate and not Clarke  I've checked the other children's birth records and 2 have maiden name as Clarke and one was without   Was she married previously?

Alma was my grandmother and her birth records were not correct - Her actual date of birth was August 5th and her mother's name was Clarke.

She had to have these changed and was able to do so because she had a small diary that her mother kept about the birth of her 4 children.

My mother and I believe that Cenate was a family name on Alma's mother's side, perhaps even her mother's maiden name but we have not found anything to prove this.
