Post by: Rach72 on Friday 14 April 17 17:54 BST (UK)
Help please.... James Lawson born Highgate London 1876.   Moved to Doncaster about 1884.  In 1891 Exchange Street Doncaster then in 1911 Jubilee Street Doncaster.  My family same to think he was in the first world war?  I cannot find any record of this event.  I'm I missing something?

About two-thirds of the WW1 service records were destroyed in a WW2 bombing :-\

So, there may be nothing to find.

Have you looked for a Medal Index Card?
He would only have got a medal if he served overseas.
