Help needed please in finding parents of Mary TONGUE born 1810 Banff,
she married a James Harrison in 1832 in Wolverhampton.
-
Have you checked the Old Parish Registers on Scotlands People?

Help needed please in finding parents of Mary TONGUE
You already have her mothers name from the 1851 entry and her mother is also on the 1841 with other children.
Checking for baptisms of those children will give you the fathers name.
Also - checking for marriages for the children on the 1841 entry will give the same info
-
Thanks
Will have a look at Scotlands People,
Have not been able to find any Baptisms so far

JeanLillian, what is your evidence for her date and place of birth?
Tongue seems to be an exceptionally unusual surname, and there are no recorded baptisms of anyone of that name north of Glasgow before 1854. Almost all of them are in the south-west of Scotland, mainly in Penninghame and Minnigaff.
Carole, what 1851 and 1841 entries? I have failed to find a matching Mary Harrison so I can't look at this information.

Hi
Found Father of Mary a John Tongue on Baptism record of Mary,s Brother William in 1815 Wolverhampton , 1841 Mary Harrison nee Tongue mother Mary Tongue born Banff widow living Wolverhampton, . so John Tongue died before the 1841 census , so no idea where he was born although his and Mary's first child Jane Tongue was born in Ireland in 1805 . she died in 1845 in Wolverhampton . So still hitting a brick wall with Mary & John :(

Example?
Try TONGE / Harrison 1846

I am confused.
Your original post said you were looking for Mary Tongue, born in Banff in 1810, married in 1832 in Wolverhampton. Now you seem to be suggesting that it is Mary Tongue's mother who was born in Banff.
Suggest that you post a full transcription of exactly what both the 1841 and 1851 censuses say.
