Hi I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions on finding out about my great grandparents death they both died in 1919, Joseph whiley and Mary whiley (was going) one in September and one in December? We are trying to find out how they died and what happened to their children, Charles and Albert as they were both quite young? Any help would be gratefully received!

To find out the cause of death you would have to buy copies of their respective death certs
There was a major flu epidemic (Spanish flu) at that time which resulted in millions of deaths so that may be the cause

Deaths Sep 1919
Whiley Joseph 45 Northampton 3b 76
Deaths Dec 1919
Whiley Jane 32 Northampton 3b 76
Albert Henry Whiley was born 1909 so possibly was brought up by relatives or neighbours etc etc
Can't see any birth for Charles in Northants

Joseph & Jane nee Going married 1909 and there are 3 other births showing on freebmd with mmn Going
Arthur E 1911
Frederick J 1913
George E 1914
Nothing for Charles

Albert henry and Arthur Ernest both baptised 23 July 1911
Arthur died Q4 1959 - Brixworth district
Think this is Charles
Charles William Going
Q1 1908 Northampton Vol 3b, p67
there's a baptism where the parents are listed as Joseph and Jane Going of 12 Parkers Row

George and Arthur Whiley appear to be together on the 1939 census

Thank you everybody appreciate the info, Charles was registered as 'going' as he was born before they were married!

Thank you so much sandy that's really helpful! This side of the family has been a complete nightmare! We couldn't find my grandad for years didn't even think of him being born out of wedlock! My dad seems to remember stories of him joining a travelling circus so trying to establish what happened to his parents to see if that sheds any light! Thanks again for your help

You are welcome ginfairy81 :)
I wondered why they weren't buried in the same grave.
That part of the area in Billing Road is now completely cleared of headstones.
In fact there are only 400+ graves left in the whole of what was a huge cemetery.

I wondered why they weren't buried in the same grave.
Could they have been public graves? My great grandparents died 3 months apart and are in public graves.
