Hi,
I am looking for the death of the above people they used to live in wootton under edge Gloucester, the only one I have found is Thomas grimes 1955 but I am not sure. can anyone either confirm or fine another date and whereabouts they were buried. thank you

That looks the right one. Full name Rose Ellen Grimes
Free search of the 39 Register has Rose E Grimes, born 1868, living in Barnstaple M.B., Devon
Putting Rose into "Other household member's" for Barnstaple brings up John W H Matthews, and May G Matthews, both born 1911
Birth, March qtr 1912, Dursley 6a 479
Grimes, May Gladys
mother Davis
May married Mr Matthews in Barnstaple in 1935
Not sure about the 1955 death for Thomas though.
In 1891 they were in Trevethin, Monmouth (Pontypool district). Could they have gone back to that area?

I agree that the 1928 death for Thomas is a good possibility - I can't see him prior to WW2 ;)

Note all of these show baptisms in Wooton under Edge on Ancestry, Father. Thomas Mother Rose Ellen or Helen or in the case of May G Grimes mother Rosa
Herbert could possibly be the death Dec 1966 Pontypool 8c 250 aged 64?

Hi again, you make a point of George in 1901 Wootton under edge aged 13 was he born prior to the marriage of Thomas Grimes to Rose Ellen Davis in 1889:-
George Davis September qtr 1887 Dursley 6a 236 no mothers maiden name ( suggests illegitimate)

PS why wait until the 1921? most of us purchase the most likely death certificate in the hope it is the correct one, if not try again, or do you only wish to locate your family history by census returns??

I think that OP's original request of when did Thomas & Rose die may have been solved but only death certificates would confirm.

1939 register will confirm Roses marital state, make sure you see the original as transcripts are often misleading

Have you looked for them in 1911 and 1939 :-\

note from 1901 census that George Grimes was 13, in 1911 he was in Portsmouth training, went to war for our country and died 9 9 1916.
I am not sure about the 1939 register as I am still learning about family history and what you can find out etc. is it like the Kellys directories

1939 register was a register compiled for WW2 purposes of all civilians. It gives address, names, dates of birth & occupations of all residents. You cannot view details of anyone who is till living on it, they are blacked out.

It is only available on FindMyPast and I am afraid we are not allowed to do lookups from it. You can manipulate the free search though
