Hi All,
I am searching for the Watkins family in South Wales. More pacifically I am looking for anyone on here who has the same interest.
There was a Terrence Watkins (b. Tredegar, 2109/1932) and I believe his father was William John Watkins (b.1899).
I am not looking for any census records at this point, just people currently on RootsChart whom are searching the same family.

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Table?
There's a link at the bottom of every RC page ;D
Also, are you aware of how popular the Watkins surname is?!
10,905 on the 1911 census :-\

I didn't realise that there was a link on every page. I put a couple of names on thread so that anyone who has researched there family would match the names to there's

This looks like the birth?
December qtr 1932
Bedwellty Registration District vol 11a, page 166
Watkins, Terence Mother's maiden name: Stone
And parent's marriage:
December qtr 1925
Bedwellty Registration District vol 11a, page 312
Watkins, William J
Stone, Muriel F
Bedwellty Reg. District includes the parish of Tredegar.
Using FreeBMD, with a surname of Watkins and a Mother's name of Stone, and searching 1925 to 1950 reveals at least 2 brothers (registered in Bedwellty) and possibly a brother and sister registered in Chepstow.
Because they may still be alive, I can't mention them ;D

I have found the basic information as you have mentioned. I don't believe they are alive but we shall play it safe just in case. You could always PM me them.
I have taken a look at the Surname Interests page. There are a lot of folks who are interested in the name Watkins from S.Wales but most of these no longer use RootsChat.

FreeBMD is very easy to use! ;D
I am sure you can find this information yourself.

I already have.
The objective of this post was to seek out others who are researching the Watkins family and not requesting actual research!

Hello all - I'm a Schaffer, currently living in North America - my paternal Great-Great-Grandmother was a Watkins (Martha Jane Watkins, 1871 -1956. She married John Vires, and gave birth to my Great-Grandmother Elvira Vires). I've been tracing the Paternal lineage of Martha Jane (Watkins) Vires, and discovered after a bit of searching that Martha Jane was the direct descendant (10 generations) of Sir Francis Watkins of Wales, I believe(Francis of Shotten, apparently, father of James Watkins).
I have gone a bit further and traced Francis's lineage back as far as John Watkins I (c. 1305). I was wondering if anyone had any information about the parentage of John I, or any history at all regarding his ancestry?
Any leads or information would be most appreciated and I'll be happy to share any of my resources or discoveries, including the partially completed Family Tree I've been working on. Anyone is free to contact me at (*) or via a message on this site.
Thanks in advance to anyone with any info, and also thank you all for contributing to this site and helping others discover their heritage.
Jason A. Schaffer (c. 1979) lol
