Would anyone know please what the address "Trent side, North Muskham, Newark" was around February 1946. I have tried Google
Info comes from Destination on a Passenger list for a Nurse travelling from Cape Town . She returned to South Africa in 1947
Thank you for reading this and any help

North Muskham is a small village on the banks of the River Trent.
It had a population of c500 in the late 1930s
Googling the term "Trentside" brings up:
Trentside Cricket Club
Trentside Products (furniture company)
Trentside Medical Group
Trentside Fixings (cable management)
Trentside Federation (2 Primary schools)
So, it's a well-used term?

Thanks for info. My Google search came up with the village pop. details, but not Trentside, although I did start sarh with Trent side so probably didn't connect. That's how it's written on the Passenger list
I wondered if she was travelling to work at some hospital or official establishemnt in the area, my family who she was possibly searching for came from this area and into Lincs
It wasn't shown as her departure address,
Thanks again

My guess is that it could be the name of a house. I would look at Ferry Lane on Google street view and among the modern houses are some older cottages.
Try an E Mail to the Parish Council. someone may know.

Update-
Jaywit- the person on the link you sent me put me in touch with someone connected to a local FH group. They have done a lot of research ( which is why this update is a bit late)
and come up with the following.
Trent side was 3 cottages on Crab Lane , which were sold together by Auction in November 1931 by the Executor's of a deceased.
Part of the sale notice reads " 3 brick built & tiled cottages with good gardens". The buyer paid £200 for them. They have since been knocked together
I do have the names of the "deceased seller " and the purchaser.
Thanks again KGarrard & Jaywit

Lemur I'm pleased you have got some information.
I know in the past I contacted the Parish Council in a small village I was having problems with and they were very good.

The Parish Clerk put me in touch with the man who had contacts with FHG on the day I posted original request and that was a Sunday !!!!. He contacted me that evening and has worked hard for over a week finding me the details.
Not really an expert in FH either. Well that's what he tells me, but he certainly knew who to ask for Property ownership and Land sales details in the area.
