Title: 1891/1901 Census - Francis William Kent born c.1888
Post by: Gerry on Friday 28 April 17 10:55 BST (UK)
I am putting this posting under Durham because it's the only county I can identify with from the information I have

Francis William Kent born c.1888, father William, married Evelyn Orwin born c.1891, father Charles.
Marriage recorded as 21 March 1914 in Sedgefield Volume 10a, Page 272.

I have the pedigree for Evelyn but having problems with Francis and finding him in census returns from 1891 onwards, which, hopefully would give his parent names.    I wonder if a fresh pair of eyes could help me, please.

Just to rule one out..

Looking at births for Francis Willam Kent around 1888, the nearest, date wise, is one 1889 in Pewsey Wiltshire.
However that guy can be seen on censuses with a father called Thomas.

What are the Occp's of Francis and his Father William from the M/C?

Have you looked for a Frank Kent, Father William in Census?

Yours looks good also but he was older than he claimed at Marriage.
Gerry may not actually have the Cert as the info is on F/S.Org.

Many thanks for all your replies and from them there appears to be no definitive Francis William Kent in the census for 1891, 1901 or 1911.    The only detail I have on Francis is the marriage details taken from 'Find my Past' (not the marriage certificate) which shows his father's name but not the occupations of father and son.

Perhaps the only way forward is to obtain the full marriage certificate

On a better note I see Rosie has a Springer?   The one on my posting is Molly

Have you found either of them in the 1939 register  :-\

My 'horror' is a Cocker who is curled up on his chair at the moment.  He wakes up when we want to relax and watch tv  ::)

Thanks for the suggestion Rosie but I don't have access to the 1939 register.   I could try this when next in my local library.

I have tried finding the family using the free search in the hope that it threw a light on the couple.  :'(

Do you know where Evelyn died

An online tree has Evelyn dying in Cirencester RD in 1984 - buried at South Cerney

The tree also suggests it is the Cirencester Francis Wm but no evidence that I can see
