Title: Harry Kent born c.1866
Post by: Gerry on Sunday 30 April 17 13:33 BST (UK)
I am researching Harry Kent born c.1866 in Bursledon, Hants.    A record in family search.org shows 'Military Service 1902' and 'Mil Regt 4868'.    Can anyone explain what this means? Grateful for help, please.

There is an H. KENT
4868 Private 1st (Royal) Dragoons served in the Boer War, received Queen's South Africa Medal, clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal.

Service records are on Findmypast.

Year and place of birth confirm it is your man.
