Possible marriage to Annie Forster Jan - March 1887 Hexham RD.

Annie Waugh may have been christened Hannah rather than Annie or Ann. There are two born in Haltwhistle about that time.
-
You may need the M/C for Annies Fathers name/occp
Marriage Reg, Dec 1920, Hexham, 10b 729
Annie WAUGH and Robert A JAMIESON on same page

Thankyou so much Regards spec

1901 name is mistranscribed. Still in Durham;
John Jamerson, 46
Annie Jamerson, 40
Robert Rchman Jamerson, 20****
James Jamerson, 17
Mary Isabella Jamerson, 13
William Forster Jamerson, 11
Margret Hanah Jamerson, 9
Annie Lowsea Jamerson, 4
Sorry due to copyright cant post details of 1911 Census.
But I can tell you the John is born c 1855 Barn Hill, Roxburghshire
Robert is still at Home and has more younger Siblings.
Isabellal Ballantyne is hard to track back from 1891 Census
She is likely Johns Mother, may have remarried or is using her maiden name as Scottish Widows often did.
Will see what I can find.

I would suggest you look at the 1939 register in order to find Annie Waugh's date of birth. She and Robert are easy to find.

Didnt even think of that William :)

Annie Waugh could be the daughter of Thomas Waugh (Haltwhistle) and Margaret Forster (Hexham) married Hexham 1868. Born in Haltwhistle in 1879, in 1911 Annie lives with her older brother John coalminer, a possible twin, Lily a milliner; another sister Katie Winifred and an Aunt, Mary Anna Hamilton born 1840 Hexham. They live at Carrowdale? Haltwhistle.

oh guys thank you so much
you all have been very helpful
cant say how much it is appreciated Regards spec
-
Sorry Spec, I.m wrong. Annie seems to be much younger than I thought: born 1895. I have not found her parents but her grandparents appear to be William (born 1844 Blenkinsopp, Haltwhistle) and Margaret (born 1841 Wark)
-
I think this is a possible scenario.
1901 census has an Annie Waugh b Haltwhistle aged 6 living with her grandparents William and Margaret Waugh in Thirlwall, Haltwhistle.
Gro index for birth of Annie Waugh Jan - Mar 1895 Haltwhistle has no mother's name recorded.
Going back to the 1881 census William and Margaret Waugh had a daughter Emma W(Wilhemina from other records) b Haltwhistle 1873. In the 1891 census Emma is recorded as a general servant domestic with the Lee family in Whitfield. Emma Waugh married William Kennedy in Haltwhistle in May 1897 - noting that this was some two years after the birth of the Annie Waugh above this could explain why Annie is with her grandparents in 1901.

There is a burial for Emma Wilhemina Kennedy 9 Dec 1905 in Greenhead, Northumberland - birth year in death index 1873.

John Jamieson's place of birth is recorded as Barnhill, Roxburghshire in 1911 ( thanks Trish).
In 1851 there is a Jamieson family living at Barnhills, Ancrum, Roxburghshire. Head is James Jamieson age 42, a widower, occ Farm Labourer and a number of his children are listed including Isabella age 22 born Morebattle.
In 1859 an Isabella Jamieson married William Ballantyne in Hume, Roxburghshire and in 1861 the couple are living at Hinds House, Nenthorn, Berwickshire with baby daughter Jessie.
In 1861 we find James Jamieson above living at Todrig, Hume, Berwick. He is shown as age 54 and some of the children listed on the 1851 census are still with him, but there is an additional 'son' John Jamieson age 9 born Ancrum ( remember James was already a widower in 1851!).
In 1871 a number of the children from 1851/1861 are living together at Bassendean, Westruther, Berwickshire. With them is their nephew John Jamieson, age 17, born Ancrum. Also another nephew Robert Smith, age 11 who is listed in the 1861 Hume census as a grandson of James Jamieson.
In 1871 Isabella and William Ballantyne are living in Northam, Roxburghshire with 10 year old daughter Jessie.
My feeling is that John was the illegitimate son of Isabella Jamieson and that when she married he was taken in by the extended family - first by his grandfather and then by his aunts and uncles.
