Birth Registered; 1840, 4th Q, Frome.
Married; 1881, New Zealand, Charlotte Harris.
Died; 9th November 1922, Tai Tapu.

Birth details records his mother's maiden name as Little.

James Fussell
Residence - North Bradley
Marriage - 17 May 1829, Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire
Spouse - Anne Little
Spouse's residence - North Bradley
Wits - Joseph Bennett and Sofia Newbery

The 1851 census has James' birth place as North Bradley.  :)

This is indeed the same family. Aaron and William also emigrated to New Zealand, and I have been able to find out rather more about them and their descendants.
As to his birthplace, Part of Rode was technically part of the parish of North Bradley, County of Wiltshire and diocese of Salisbury until boundary changes in the 1920s. There are still a couple of boundary stones in place.
