I am studying the WORSELL family from Rye, Sussex.
Have worked back to Richard WORSELL born about 1775 at Rye, he married a Mary CHANDLER.
I believe that Richards parents were Thomas WORSELL and Jane ne CATT
Please can anyone confirm my understanding and perhaps give me any details for Thomas and earlier ancestors?

Thomas and Jane married in Iden in 1762. He is shown as of Pett. Assuming they had children fairly soon that would make Richard quite old by the time he married in 1803. What makes you think he is their child? Do you have census records to confirm his age?
There are only 44 marriages for the name Worsell and variants on the Sussex pre 1837 Marriage index so it is not a very common Sussex name.

Thanks for replying Sillygen
I have Richard in the 1841 census and widowed wife Mary in 1851. Age Dates fit well with the Baptism of Richard in 1775 I picked up on Family Search, parents Thomas and Jane.
