Title: Date Please - not a priority
Post by: cazza59 on Friday 26 May 17 03:37 BST (UK)
Hi All

This is a photo from my rescued collection (i.e. not family), so it's not a priority but I'd love a date for the pic if anyone has the time.

Anyone wanting to play with the pic, feel free.

Caz

What a lovely photo of a lovely lady (although that waist really worries me!)

Can't help with the dating, but some very interesting information about Peter Maitland Laws, the photographer here:

A late style kick-up sleeve suggests 1892/3.

Mc G..... I'm not usually a fan of the canvas effect, but I do think that it lends itself very well in your version...like it.

Colour playing here....

I have a photograph of my Great Gran in a similar dress and it was taken in 1895. Love your colour version Handypandy  ;)

Thanks very much for that link Maddy.  Seems he was quite the celebrated photographer.

To Daffyd46, Handypandy, Yvonne, Peter and Pat, so glad you enjoyed working on this photo and may I say you have all done an excellent job, both with the repairs and colourings.

I have over 300 photos of this ilk, so if you'd like some more posted to work on, just say the word.

Cheers
Caz

Thank you Caz, yes I did enjoy working on your photo and it's lovely to see all the different versions that can be done on the same photo. I think I can say for all the restorers, keep them coming.
