Good morning,
I am trying to help a friend here in Australia find out what happened to Alexander Crombie Barnes born 1910 c in Leslie in Fife in Scotland. He married Emma Ruth Demptster in Toronto n 1937 and after the couple divorced Emma remarried. There was one son from the marriage who is still alive so I wont mention his name. From information out there in cyber space he was on some census records up to 1950 odd. His father also Alexander died in 1951
any help would be appreciated
thanks Jenn

Canada Voters List 1945 -
Barnes, Alexander C, inspector, Apt 11 - 2 Spadina Road - also Mrs Alexander Barnes.
Presume Alexander Crombie Barnes Snr - died in 1951, Jane Barnes is buried with him - she died in 1963. Both buried prospect cemetery - Section 28, grave 2064.
Last Canadian Census available is 1921 - perhaps you mean he is mentioned city directories ??? the name you mentioned is in a message board post on this link

Do you have an obit for Alexander C Barnes sr? If not, it is in the Globe and Mail newspaper, 18 May 1951, page 26.
He died at his home, 2 Spadina Road, on May 15, 1951. Husband of Jean Sim. Father of John, Alex, Alan and Jessie (Mrs P Linton) of London, England. Interment Prospect Cemetery.

Found Allan W Barnes's obituary in the Toronto Star, Aug 9, 1977, page B6.
His nickname was Scotty. Veteran RCAF 400 Squadron WW2. He died at the Etobicoke General Hospital on Aug 7, 1977. Husband of Eva Force. Brother of Jean Linton of Poole, England (it says Jean here.. perhaps Jessie is Jessie Jean, or Jean Jessie??), John of Keane, Ontario and the late Alex of Windsor.
So, Alex lived in Windsor, Ontario...and he died before 1977.
