Hi all,
The attached marriage record below is that of my ancestor Mark Frost who married in 1658. I can read most of it but unfortunately I cannot make out the brides surname & the day & month of the date. I can make out the following:
Mark Ffroste Margerate ? were married ? ?
Does the date read Decem 25?
The marriage took place at St James, Shere, Surrey in 1658. It is the 4th entry from the top.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
David

I think it's Margreate Froste - the same name as her husband. Strange as the f is lower case, but I see that is done elsewhere too. The date is decem 25 as you guess,

I forgot to say, it reads "was married" as do all the other entries

I think it is Graham but the writing is not clear.
25th December 1658 is the date of their marriage.

Both parties transcribed as FROST on one of the sub sites ~ date 28 Mar 1658 ???
I think it does look like Frost too.

Hi, Steve, Tees & Claire,
Many thanks for your replies, very much appreciated.
Hmmm, Frost as well eh, interesting as I though it might be Foster although Ancestry had it transcribed as Margaret Frost to Manuel with no surname! ::)
So is that Margaret Froste with the 'e' on the end then?
My thanks again.
Kind regards
David

Margreate Froste, as stated by Old Bristolian in reply #1.

Hi Bookbox,
Many thanks for the clarification, clearly didn't read Old Bristolian's reply properly! ::) Mental note to self, must read responses properly before replying! ;D
Thanks again.
Kind regards
David
