A good candidate for Fast Fourier Transform!

Well. I had to look up Fast Fourier transform and I can't see how it relates to this image, but as I am not in my heyday of youth, perhaps I am having a senior moment.
I have removed the lines and made it a bit sharper.

Well done, Dafydd, you've obviously got FFT nailed!

Great job, Pat! A 'Fast Fourier transform' filter/plugin (whatever it may be) is often recommended for finding and removing regular repeated patterns like lines, stripes, etc. But you obviously have the skill to do this without resorting to complicated software!

Hi Mike, Thank you for the explanation. I have a ' moire' selection, which I click on, adjust as needed and that's it, easy for me.

Hi I put the photograph up for my friend who's grandfather is second from the left front, he is after information concerning his grandfather who died on the Jasper
-
Hi and thanks for prompt reply. I take it the grandfather mentioned is the depicted George Rusling who was an Engineman on the Jasper at time of her loss. My maternal uncle is at the rear with cap at back of head - he was Stoker, Matt Dempsey, He and George were two (2) of the eleven (11) men killed when she was torpedoed. George is buried at Bonfire Hill Cemetery and Matt in Dalmellington Cemetery, Ayrshire. Your partial picture is from an original that had eight (8) Engine Room crew depicted. I had correspondence with George's daughter (Newcastle Under Lyne from memory) a number of years ago re him and Jasper etc. Your friend and I should make some contact.

Yes my mate is called Dave Rusling his dad is still going strong 80's young, he recently went down Cornwall to visit his grandad's grave so I havent seen him for two weeks ....how do you wish to contact him, we both live near Pontefract West Yorkshire and he got back yesterday from his jaunt down south...lol

Hi Yorkiedart. Ta again for contact. I am in Ayrshire, Scotland so not a chap on the door contact. Obviously I cannot put my e-mail contact on here as Administrator would rightly react to that. I do not know if mobile numbers are similarly censored? Any ideas?
